Fishing Report 11.8.10

Water temps are in the mid to upper 50s and stripers to 24″ are starting to school. When the winds allowed anglers could find small fish to cast to on Windmill Bar and along the flats from Cherry Point to The Hole-in-the-Wall and southward. The greatest activity is at the break of dawn and the last two hours before dark. Bucktails tipped with Gulp Jerk Shad and Storm-type soft plastic weighted baits work best.

Stripers were also available in the Rappahannock around Towles Point.

Live spot on fishfinder rigs are also producing keeper stripers around structure.

There are bluefish in the area to 20″.

A few Tautog are being caught on hard iron ore bottom.

Tight Lines,
Jerry
