Fishing Report 11.15.10

Water temps are still in the mid-50s and stripers are biting for short periods each day. Trollers caught a few larger fish in the 30″ range around R1 and north of Buoy 42. School-sized fish were caught in Fleets Bay. There is still no big influx of fish as waters remain warm enough to hold bait to the north. Stretch-25 type lures caught some of the fish this past week. Umbrella rigs with small shad worked better than big baits. Bucktails tipped with Gulp Jerk Shad and
Calcutta-type soft plastic weighted baits also worked.

Schooling fish were seen under birds in the Rappahannock around the Whitestone Bridge and fish were caught upriver near Towles Point.

Those fishing at night around lighted docks and bridges had the most consistent action.

Tight Lines,
Jerry
