More Virginia Wahoo

We decided not to fish Saturday because it was going to be blowing a bit. Instead, we went offshore Sunday when it was blowing a lot. Sometimes, we are not the brightest bunch. It was one of those days when I really appreciate my Albemarle. We were planning on doing some deep-dropping but decided that it was too rough for that so we just trolled. We were east of the Cigar in 40 fathoms. Had a dozen or so bites. Several, we did not know about until we would check a bait and find it was bitten off right behind the hook. We pulled the hook on a handful of fish only managing to hang onto two. Hunter Southall and Mac McCormick each caught their first-ever wahoos. Hunter’s fish was his 6th different citation of the year, earning him Virginia’s Expert Angler Award.
