Sail City

Yesterday, I fished on the Special Kate with Charles Southall, Hunter Macon, Warren Worth, and 73-year-old, Rick Holland. Rick is an old duck hunter who had never been offshore. We started out catching a few tilefish. Maybe, we shouldn’t have stopped for tiles. When we tried to get out a trolling spread, we kept being interrupted by pesky sailfish. They were free-jumping, cutting, balling bait, under working birds, all around us. We had maybe 20 bites, hooked 12, caught 8. It was like National Geographic out there. We told Rick that it is always like that.

Today, Johnny Boyd and I tried for flounder at the CBBT. After not catching them, we spent a bit trying for drum. We did better with that. Caught a cobia and some reds. The 2 of us had as many as 3 hooked up at a time.

Not sure what I’m doing tomorrow.
