Big Sea Bass Today

We ran out to one of the offshore wrecks and found it loaded with big sea bass. We had our 90-fish limit in short order. We had a lot of fish over 4 pounds. The largest, caught by Charles Southall, weighed in at 6 pounds. 3 other fish weighed over 5 pounds. We ran in and trolled for bluefin tuna for a couple of hours without any encounters. We quit fishing about lunchtime and came on in to clean fish. We are going back out there in the morning.

Wow–looks like some great sea bass fishing. I was wondering who would you recommend to charter out of Virginia Beach. Please call me or send me an e-mail with your suggestions. My cel number is 410 804-6586. I heard that Steve Wray is very good on the Ocean pearl but I know he is a bit pricey.

    Thanks,

Any of those boats out of Rudy Inlet could take you. Capt. Joe DelCampo commercially fishes sea bass when he is not being a charter captain so he would have them dialed in. Out of Lynnhaven, Capt. Steve Wray would be good one.
