Flounder Buoy 42

The flounder bite has picked up in the Cell/buoy 42 area. Steve Martin fished with Mike Hurst on Tuesday. They trolled up 12 really nice keepers to about 6 pounds. Saturday, Mike went back to that area and they caught 14 keepers up to 9 pounds and lost a larger fish at the net. Today, I went there with Steve Martin. We did not have the same kind of day. First time that I have fished for flounder this way. Steve has two trolling socks, along each side of the boat, that slow his trolling speed down. Strips baits, about a 20 ounce sinker, put out a spread and troll around. Make sure the sinkers are bouncing on the bottom then leave the rods in the rod holders. We hooked up right away and I caught a keeper flounder. Great start. Then the marine radio put out a warning that a storm was coming and to go to port. We ran into the Hole in the Wall and waited a bit. Storm broke apart but the winds were picking up so we came on back in.
