While setting the anchor, a big cobia swam right up to the boat. I had nothing ready to throw to it but it was a good sign. Got set up and something and I broke something big off on a croaker. It was too big to be one of the sharks but it did not come up like the cobia usually do. I expect it was one of the rays that were swimming around. I re-rigged the rod and dropped the little bait rod down by the chum pot to catch another croaker. Immediately, I got bit and it took off, not a croaker. It was a cobia on blood worm fish bites on a bottom rig. Well this was not going to last long. Up comes a bigger cobia chasing the little one I am hooked to. Fighting the one cobia with one hand, I cranked up one of the eels up off of the bottom and just had it hanging just under the water. I brought the little cobia near it and sure enough, the other one ate it. I managed to net them both. Got them out of the net, took a quick photo and released them both.

JT Hale was out there also and had pretty much the same results, 2 cobia. He did catch his, one at a time.

I went back out this afternoon.
